It’s Dressing Up Time!
The end of October is always a traditional time to get dressed up but it’s also the time when we start looking at our autumn and winter wardrobes and planning for the darker and colder days and nights ahead.
But we all know that cold and dark days doesn’t mean cold and dark fashion, right? Far from it. This season’s must have’s make us look forward to tucking away our summer outfits and slipping into something equally special and fun.
So what’s on the cards for autumn and winter this year?
It’s got to be puffer jackets. Corduroy is in too and so are big bags. Brown is a key colour and making a subtle transition from summer is floral. From a pattern point of view, check and argyle are ones to keep in mind.
Not surprisingly, Princes Square is the place to tick all of these off. Ted Baker and COS have puffer jackets that will see you properly warm and looking the business but if you’d rather not go puffy then a stunning brown check jacket is on the rail at REISS. In fact when it comes to checks in general all three are ready to show you some must haves, and in many colours.
Check them out!

When it comes to corduroy, Kate Spade New York has something stunning (don’t they always?) in a wonderful suit. And while you’re in there then you’ve got to look at their big bag collection…

Florals are still big this autumn and winter, following nicely on from summer. Petals work at any time of the year but season it’s all about bright and decorative and French Connection has just what you need…

And finally, Argyle pattern is a classic. It’s a design instantly recognisable everywhere and Vivienne Westwood has a stunning knit with the iconic diamonds on show, in a typically distinctive style. When Vivienne Westwood does it you know you’re at the front of the fashion queue.

Dressing up in October isn’t really about fancy dress. It is all about dressing fancy!
